  • The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission conducts recruitment examination every year for filling the vacant posts in the various departments. It conducts recruitment examination in following groups:

    • GROUP – I
    • GROUP – II
    • GROUP – III
    • GROUP – IV

    Group – I

    APPSC Group-I Exam is Conducted in 3 Stages

    • Preliminary Examination (Objective paper)
    • Main’s Examination (Conventional Type)
    • Interview/Oral Test

    Prelims Examination (Screening Test)

    The preliminary exam is a screening test which is conducted to shortlist the candidates for the next stage of examination. The exam consists of one objective type paper. Minimum qualifying marks will be given for reservation candidates as per the rules.

    Mains Examination

    Candidates who qualified in preliminary examination will go to second stage i.e Main examination which contains five papers in conventional type & is of degree standard syllabus. The General English paper is of qualifying one and its marks are not counted for final ranking. All the question papers except General English may be answered either in English or Telugu or Urdu chosen by the candidate. Minimum qualifying marks will be given for reservation candidates as per the rules.

    • The candidates will be asked to draw their own conclusion from the data presented in the tabular form in graphical or otherwise
    • Problem solving – duly structured situation will be presented to the candidates and they will be asked to suggest their own solutions to the problem arising out of situation. Alternatively, they may be called upon to prove the understanding of the situation by answering certain searching questions based on the situation

  • The Candidate’s Upper age limit relaxations details given below

      • 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST and BCs Candidate’s.
      • 10 years age relaxation for Physically Handicapped (PH) Candidates.
      • 3 years age relaxation for Ex-Service men (3 years & length of service rendered in the armed forces).
      • 3 years age relaxation for N.C.C (who have worked as Instructor in N.C.C) – 3 Years & length of service rendered in the N.C.C.
      • 5 years age relaxation for A.P. State Government Employees (Employees of APSEB, APSRTC, Corporations, Municipalities etc. are not eligible)-5 Years maximum based on the length of regular service.
      • 3 years age relaxation for Retrenched temporary employees in the State Census Department with a minimum service of 6 months.
  • 3.Educational qualification:

    01 to 04, 06 to 08, 10 to 12 & 14 to 19 A Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University in India established or incorporated by or under Central Act, Provincial Act, a State Act or an Institution recognized by the U.G.C. or an equivalent qualification.
    05 A Bachelor’s Degree in B.E. (Fire), provided that if BE (Fire) candidates are not available Candidates with the degree in any discipline will be considered.
    13 (i) A Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University in India established or incorporated by or under Central Act, Provincial Act, a State Act or an Institution recognized by the U.G.C. or an equivalent qualification. (ii) Preference shall be given to persons possessing a degree in Sociology or Social Work
    09 A Degree in Commerce OR Economics OR Mathematics of a University recognized by the U.G.C. with at least Second class in the subject OR CA of the UK or India or an Incorporated Accountant (London)
  • Physical Requirements

      • For Post Code No. 03 to 05: Must not be less than 167.6 Cms. in height and must be not less than 86.3 Cms. round the Chest on full inspiration and has a Chest expansion of not less than 5 Cms. on full inspiration (as per Special Rules).
      • For S.T.: Must not be less than 164 Cms. in height and must be not less than 83.8 Cms. round the Chest with a minimum expansion of not less than 5 Cms. on full inspiration.
      • For Post Code No. 03 (Women only): Not less than 152.5 Cms. in height and not less than 45.5 Kgs in weight. (As per G.O.Ms.No. 137; Home (Police-E); dated: 01/06/1998)
      • For Post Code No. 18: Must be atleast 165 Cms. in height and atleast 81 Cms. round the Chest on full expiration, with a chest expansion of atleast 5 Cms. (as per Rule 4(c)(iii) of A.P. Excise Rules & as per G.O. Ms. No. 108 GAD, dated: 25/01/1961.
      • For Pc.No. 03 & 05 :Vision: The Candidate should satisfy by a Medical Board as to his Physique, Fitness and Capacity for active outdoor work and is certified by the Ophthalmic Surgeon that his vision comes upto the requirements specified below without the use of contact glasses.
  • The standards of the minimum acuteness of vision which will be used for guidance in the examination of a candidate are as follows:

    Note :

    • No maximum age limit for SCs, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs (Other than BCCs & BCMs), BCCs, BCMs and Destitute Widows of all castes.
    • Age relaxation of 5 years will be applicable to persons affected by the ban orders.
    • Candidates not belonging to SCs, STs, MBC/DCs, BCs (Other than BCCs & BCMs), BCCs and BCMs (i.e. others) who have put in five years of service in the State/Central Government are not eligible to apply even though they are within the age limit.
